Craft at the LIC
Did you know we provide an outlet for local craftspeople to sell their items through the LIC? Currently we have mosaics made by Jane Alexander, cards by local artist Elaine Kemp, and handmade cards and junk books by Love from Latton.
Refugee Support - How You Can Help
A number of charities and non-governmental organisations operate appeals specifically aimed at refugees. Cotswold District Council are also looking for 3 or 4 bedroom homes to help support the vulnerable families coming in.
Council Update - Cricklade Street Traffic Regulation Order Review
Alongside engagement with Ward Councillors from the Town Council, Cotswold District Council and Gloucestershire County Council, workshops have been held with taxi and business representatives, blue badge holders and residents to inform the review into current traffic regulation arrangements in the town centre. Officers at the County Council are currently finalising proposals for formal consultation and will publish details of the consultation in due course.
Council Update - Maintenance of the Town Centre
We know, through public consultation, that many value the changes made in and around the Market Place including the thriving markets and events which now take place in the heart of the town centre. We also know that the town centre is in need of some attention and have appointed a project consultant to lead on arranging remedial repairs alongside road safety audit works required by the County Council (GCC).

These are challenging times as we seek to respond to the changing face of the high street, the impact of COVID, competition from online shopping and changes to planning legislation enabling change of use from retail to residential; not withstanding how we respond in planning terms to the climate emergency and shape Cirencester for the future, for the better.
Council Update - Cirencester Neighbourhood Plan
Having engaged widely with the community and with local groups and businesses in March 2020 and then carried out a great deal of research into the issues facing Cirencester, the community-led Steering Group has recently appointed Feria Urbanism as its planning consultant. The Steering Group has also consulted the public via a series of digital themed workshops and also engaged with primary school pupils and Cirencester College students.
Council Update - Sluice Gates
Whilst water levels are currently low we are not being complacent about the impact of flooding in and around Cirencester and have made a commitment to review the operation of the sluice gates; we are working closely with a wide range of partners and stakeholders and reviewing information provided by the public when the most recent flooding occurred in December 2020.

Market Place - Ring the Change
We've just gone live with our first ever crowdfunding project!
Cirencester Town Council has the opportunity to relocate and refurbish an unused and decommissioned telephone box. This is an exciting opportunity to incorporate much-loved heritage into Cirencester's Market Place, as a destination feature for community use and/or a tourist/visitor purpose.
THE ABBOT’S GARDEN
Planning permission has been granted for the Abbots Garden and the project is scheduled for completion by 5 September 2021, when it will be dedicated by the Patron of the 2017 Abbey 900 Festival – Rt. Rev. Rachel Treweek, the Bishop of Gloucester.
Getting Involved - The Youth Voice
Hello, I’m Eve, and I am currently working here at the Town Council as part of a work experience placement, focusing on giving a voice to young people in terms of politics and local government, especially from those living or studying in Cirencester.
Project BlackJack
An exciting project is underway by Project BlackJack to commission two statues for Cirencester Parish Church. These will be placed in the niches on the western side of the tower which are currently vacant.

Cirencester Town Council have taken the lead in brightening up the town centre with these colourful window graphics promoting our town.
